Seal My Record Now

About

Built by an attorney for the people who don't need one.

Most people who qualify to seal a record, set aside a conviction, or restore their civil rights in Arizona never file. Not because they don't qualify — but because they can't afford an attorney to prepare a petition that, frankly, doesn't require one.

That's the gap Seal My Record Now exists to fill.

I'm Michael Tamou. I'm a criminal defense attorney licensed in Arizona and Missouri, and the founder of Tamou Law Group PLLC, a Scottsdale-based firm that handles DUI, drug, assault, and serious felony cases statewide. I've been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers' Top 40 Under 40 and Top 100, Super Lawyers, the National College for DUI Defense, and Elite Lawyers — but the credential that actually built Seal My Record Now is different.

During my time at the Maricopa County Public Defender's office, I handled roughly 500 cases a year. Most criminal defense attorneys handle 50 to 60. That volume taught me something the legal industry doesn't talk about: a huge portion of post-conviction relief work — record sealing under § 13-911, set-aside under § 13-905, civil and firearm rights restoration under §§ 13-907, 13-908, and 13-910 — doesn't require courtroom advocacy. It requires the right form, filled out correctly, filed in the right county, with the right attachments. The hard part isn't the lawyering. It's knowing the rules.

Hiring an attorney to prepare those documents typically costs $1,500 to $5,000. People with clean records since their conviction, who want to vote again, get a job, own a firearm for hunting, or just stop checking the felony box on apartment applications — they shouldn't have to choose between paying that fee and staying stuck.

So I built this. Seal My Record Now isn't a law firm. It's a document preparation service. Our software walks you through a screening that maps directly to the current Arizona statutes, tells you exactly which paths apply to your case, and produces court-ready petition forms with your information filled in and county-specific filing instructions attached. You file the documents yourself. We charge $250 to $750 depending on the service. The state charges nothing to file most of these.

If your case is genuinely complicated — if there's a contested fact, a prior denial, an unusual jurisdiction, or a discretionary judge — you should hire a lawyer. We'll tell you that, and we'll point you in the right direction. But if you're one of the thousands of Arizonans who qualify cleanly under the statute and just need the paperwork done right, this is the cheapest, fastest, and most accurate way to get there.
